| Machine | John Deere 1110G (forwarder) |
|---|---|
| Solution | Stage 1 + AdBlue/SCR off* + EGR off* |
| Read / write | OBD |
The situation
The 1110G is a mid-size forwarder that hauls full loads of timber over soft, uneven ground – the engine is under load whenever the machine moves, and the hydraulics for crane and drive take whatever it can give. Out in the forest an AdBlue fault or a fouled EGR valve does not just cost performance – it can put the machine into derate kilometres from the nearest road.
The forestry contractor wanted more pull on the hill with a full load and an end to the AdBlue and EGR interruptions.
What we did
The ECU was read via OBD and the file developed for this software version – no bench work, no opening of the ECU.
- Stage 1: +30 hp with a matching torque curve, developed within the limits of the stock hardware and aimed at the working rpm range of the forwarder.
- AdBlue/SCR: dosing and level monitoring deactivated in software, related DTCs and the derate strategy handled. No more dependence on DEF supply on site.
- EGR: valve closed in software – clean intake, no recirculated soot, stable combustion temperatures.
Checksum corrected and the file written via OBD.
The result
+30 hp, more torque where the forwarder needs it, no AdBlue warnings, no EGR fouling and no derate. For the contractor this means fewer stops, a machine that pulls full loads uphill without being driven at the limit and a working day that is set by the timber, not by the after-treatment. The file was developed individually for this ECU and software version.
