The situation
The 299D2 is a compact track loader that is bought to push, lift and carry like a much larger machine. In practice the engine is the limit. With a full bucket or a heavy attachment on the front, the loader runs out of torque before it runs out of hydraulics.
One of our dealers in the USA asked for a moderate power upgrade for a customer’s machine – more usable power without touching the hardware.
What we did
The ECU was read and the file developed individually for this software version.
- Stage 1: injection quantity, torque limits and boost adjusted within the limits of the stock hardware – more torque under load and a flatter delivery across the working rpm range, so the engine holds its speed with a full bucket.
- DPF and EGR: not part of this job. Both can be handled in software on request* – regeneration logic disabled, EGR valve closed in software – where the operator’s market permits it.
Checksum corrected and the file returned to the dealer for writing.
The result
A loader that no longer bogs down under a full bucket and keeps its engine speed with heavy attachments. For the operator this means faster cycles and less time spent waiting for the engine to recover. For the dealer the job was done from a single read – the software version of the individual ECU decides what the file looks like, so every file is developed from the original data of the machine, not from a generic base.
