| Machine | Caterpillar MH3022 wheeled material handler |
|---|---|
| Engine | CAT C7.1 ACERT |
| ECU | Caterpillar A5E2V2I1 |
| Solution | Stage 1 + AdBlue/SCR off* + DPF off* + EGR off* |
| Read / write | Bench / diagnostic port, K-TAG / Flex |
The situation
Material handlers do not have quiet hours. This MH3022 works in a recycling yard from the first shift to the last – and every forced regeneration, every AdBlue fault and every derate event stops the whole yard. The operator wanted the machine to run predictably, with a bit more response under load.
What we did
CAT ECUs are a different world from Bosch – the A5E2 has its own file structure and checksum handling, and we have invested a lot of development time in exactly this platform. For this machine we combined a Stage 1 calibration with a complete after-treatment solution.
- Stage 1: improved throttle response and torque under load, within the limits of the C7.1.
- AdBlue/SCR: dosing and monitoring deactivated, inducement and derate strategy removed.
- DPF: regeneration disabled, soot model and sensors handled.
- EGR: closed in software.
- All related fault codes handled – no lamps, no limp mode.
The result
The machine now runs calmer and stronger, without regenerations and without after-treatment faults. Fuel consumption dropped, and maintenance time went with it. For the yard this simply means the handler is available.
