The situation
Contractors run their tractors harder than most: heavy tillage, long transport runs, tight windows. This T254 was mechanically perfect but suffered from the usual modern-diesel issues – EGR coking, AdBlue crystallisation in winter and the warnings and torque reduction that follow. On top, the customer wanted more reserve in front of wide implements.
What we did
We read the EDC17CV41 via OBD, analysed the calibration and developed a Stage 1 file for this exact software version. In the same file we deactivated the EGR system and the complete SCR/AdBlue strategy.
- Stage 1: 275 → 313 hp (+38 hp), more torque from low rpm, smooth transition to the rated range.
- EGR: closed in software – no more coked intake, no EGR-related fault codes.
- AdBlue/SCR: dosing, level and quality monitoring deactivated, derate logic removed, DTCs handled.
The result
+38 hp and clearly better pull under load, no EGR or AdBlue faults, no winter crystallisation issues. Lower maintenance cost and a tractor that is ready when the weather window opens. Original file archived – return to stock possible at any time.
