Takeuchi TB295W: Stage 1 plus full emission solution on the 3.6 l Deutz

MachineTakeuchi TB295W (wheeled excavator)
EngineDeutz 3.6 l diesel
SolutionStage 1 + AdBlue/SCR off* + DPF off* + EGR off*

The situation

The TB295W is a compact wheeled excavator that spends its day moving between jobs and working in short, high-load cycles – digging, swinging, loading. That duty cycle is hard on the after-treatment of the 3.6 l Deutz: the DPF rarely gets a clean regeneration window, the EGR fouls, and the AdBlue system adds its own faults and derate risk.

The request came through one of our dealers. The dealer’s customer, a contractor, wanted more usable power from the Deutz and the after-treatment handled so that the excavator stays on the job instead of in regeneration or in a limited mode.

What we did

The engine ECU was read and the file developed for this software version.

  • Stage 1: injection quantity, rail pressure and boost adjusted within the limits of the stock hardware – more torque where the hydraulic pump demands it, with a stable delivery across the working rpm range and lower fuel consumption at the same work rate.
  • AdBlue/SCR: dosing and level monitoring deactivated in software, related DTCs and the derate strategy handled.
  • DPF: regeneration logic disabled, back-pressure model and sensors neutralised – no more forced regenerations in the middle of a job.
  • EGR: valve closed in software – clean intake, no recirculated soot, stable combustion temperatures.

Checksum corrected and the file written to the ECU.

The result

More power at the stick, no regenerations, no AdBlue warnings, no derate. For the contractor this means fewer stops, fewer fuel stops thanks to the lower consumption and less strain on the engine and after-treatment components over the years the machine still has to work. The file is developed from the original read of this excavator, not from a generic base – the software version decides what the file looks like.
