Three releases matter for truck and off-highway workshops this week: two generations of Scania engine ECU open over OBD, and locked FPT units get a boot unlock. Left out on purpose: electric and hybrid passenger cars, BMW M, Jaguar Land Rover and a pickup case study.
Motorola EMS S6 / Continental EMS S8 – Autotuner, OBD (beta)
Scania trucks from Euro 3 to Euro 6: 4 Series (P124, R124, T124) with the 11.7 l PDE and HPI engines, and P, G, R and S series from 8.9 l up to the 15.6 l DC16 V8. Also listed are Scania agri and industrial engines (DC09, DC16) and Doosan/Develon machines: DX380 LC-7 and DX530 LC-7 excavators, DL420-3, DL420-5 and DL450-5 wheel loaders and the Moxy MT31 dumper. Calibration read and write with checksum correction; reads take roughly 2.5 to 9.5 minutes, writes 5 to 7. Needs the 24 V OBD cable; a bench cable covers OBD-on-bench. Still beta. Release note →
Continental EMS10 – Autotuner, OBD (beta)
Scania R series from 2018 with the 16.4 l DC16 V8, and S series with the 12.7 l DC13 and the 16.4 l DC16 V8. Calibration read in about 7 minutes, write in just under 10, checksum correction included, 24 V OBD cable required. Beta as well – Autotuner is asking workshops for feedback. Release note →
Bosch MD1CE101 (locked) – Alientech KESS3 3.61, boot
For locked MD1CE101 units on FPT engines from 2021. The first job means opening the ECU and unlocking it in boot mode with the KESS3 Unlock Module; after that, OBD and bench access work again without reopening. Listed among others: Case IH (Axial-Flow, Magnum, Maxxum, Optum, Puma, Steiger), New Holland (CR, CX, T6 to T9), Steyr (CVT, Terrus CVT), Claas Axion, McCormick X6 to X8, Landini 6 Series, Merlo telehandlers, Iveco Eurocargo, S-Way and Trakker, and Astra HD9.
