The situation
The 9620RX is the flagship of the John Deere 9RX series: a four-track articulated tractor built for heavy tillage and wide seeding rigs, where the engine runs at full load for most of the day. The Cummins behind the CM2350 controller has reserve, but the operator was not using all of it, and the DEF system added its own layer of concern – dosing faults, level warnings and the risk of a derate at the wrong moment of the season.
The farm asked for a calibration that gives more usable torque under load, and for the AdBlue system to be handled in software so that the tractor no longer depends on DEF supply and dosing hardware in the field.
What we did
The CM2350 was read via OBD with the Dimsport NewGenius and the file was developed for this exact software version.
- Stage 1 / Eco: injection quantity, rail pressure and boost adjusted within the limits of the stock hardware – the aim is a fuller torque curve at working rpm and a more efficient calibration under part load, not a peak number.
- AdBlue/SCR: dosing and level monitoring deactivated in software, all related DTCs and the derate strategy handled.
Checksum corrected and the file written back via OBD. No hardware changes on the tractor.
The result
More pull where the tractor spends its time – at rated speed in front of a heavy implement – with a calibration that does not waste fuel to get there. No DEF warnings, no derate, no AdBlue top-ups. For a dealer this job is a useful reference: the CM2350 on this 9620RX was read and written via OBD, so the whole process took place in the yard without opening the ECU.
