Doosan DX300: Stage 1 plus AdBlue solution for the crawler excavator

MachineDoosan DX300 (crawler excavator)
SolutionStage 1 + AdBlue/SCR off*

The situation

The DX300 is a crawler excavator used in earthmoving and quarry work, where the engine sits at a steady high load while the hydraulics do the work. The operator was satisfied with the machine itself. What cost time was the after-treatment: an AdBlue system that needs supply, monitoring and, when something goes wrong, puts the excavator into derate on site.

The request was for more output at the stick and a working solution for the AdBlue system so that the machine keeps digging without interruptions.

What we did

The engine ECU was read and the file developed for this software version.

  • Stage 1: injection quantity, rail pressure and boost adjusted within the limits of the stock hardware – additional torque and engine output where the hydraulic pump demands it, with a stable delivery across the working rpm range.
  • AdBlue/SCR: dosing and level monitoring deactivated in software, related DTCs and the derate strategy handled. The excavator no longer depends on DEF supply or a working SCR system to keep its full output.

Checksum corrected and the file written to the ECU, followed by a check of the machine under load with the hydraulics working.

The result

More torque and engine output, higher productivity per shift and no AdBlue warnings or derate. For the contractor this means fewer stops and an excavator that behaves the same at the end of the shift as at the start. Files for the DX300 are developed from the original read of each machine, not from a generic base – the software version decides what the file looks like.
