The situation
The Arbos P5100 is a compact tractor with a 3.4-litre Kohler engine that has more in it than the 110 hp the factory releases. The farm wanted two things: more output for heavier implements and transport, and an end to the AdBlue/DEF fault messages that interrupted work. On this platform the second part is not trivial – the engine control module (MCM) and the after-treatment control module (ACM) share the job, and a change on one side without the other produces exactly the faults the operator is trying to get rid of.
What we did
Both control units were read and the files developed together for this machine and software version.
- Stage 1: 110 → 130 hp on the Denso SH7058. Injection quantity, boost and the related parameters adjusted within the limits of the stock hardware, with the engine tuned so that fuel consumption goes down at the same work rate rather than up.
- AdBlue/SCR: dosing and level monitoring deactivated in software on the MCM, the ACM calibrated to match, related DTCs and the derate strategy handled on both sides so that the two modules agree.
Checksums corrected and both files written back to the respective control units.
The result
+20 hp, lower fuel consumption and no AdBlue fault messages. For the farm this means a tractor that pulls heavier implements with less effort, costs less per hour to run and no longer stops for the after-treatment. The job is a good example of why files on this platform are developed from the original read of both MCM and ACM – a generic file for one module alone does not work here.
